Privacy Policy - Remove Duplicates Online

Introduction

Remove Duplicates Online is a browser-based tool for removing duplicate lines and items from text and text files. This policy explains the difference between the content you process with the tool and the limited usage telemetry that may be processed when Analytics is configured and enabled in Production.

Content You Process

• Local deduplication: Pasted or typed text and the contents of files you select are read and deduplicated locally in your browser.
• No content upload for processing: The text and file contents you process are not uploaded to us or sent to a server for deduplication.
• No cloud history: The tool does not create an account or server-side history for your processed text. Copy and download actions are initiated in your browser.
• No processed content in product Analytics: Our product instrumentation does not actively send pasted or typed text, file contents, input or output values, selected result values, custom delimiters, file names, or email addresses to Analytics.

These statements apply specifically to content handled by the duplicate remover. They do not mean that the website sends no network requests or processes no limited usage telemetry.

Limited Usage Telemetry

When Analytics is configured and enabled in Production, the following providers may process limited usage telemetry:

• Microsoft Clarity, for session recordings, page interaction patterns, and product workflow events.
• Google Analytics, for page and usage measurement.

Depending on the provider and browser, this telemetry may include page views, public page paths, clicks, scroll behavior, language, device and browser characteristics, coarse input-size or result-count buckets, option usage, and completion actions such as copy or download. The providers may also receive standard connection information, such as an IP address and user agent, as part of serving their scripts and measurement requests.

Input, output, file-related messages, and other user-generated result surfaces are masked for Microsoft Clarity. Product events and tags use predefined action names and coarse categories rather than user-provided content. These safeguards reduce exposure, but third-party providers process permitted telemetry under their own terms and privacy policies.

Analytics providers are not loaded merely because the duplicate-removal algorithm runs. They may process telemetry only when their Production configuration is present and Analytics is enabled.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

When Microsoft Clarity or Google Analytics is enabled, those providers may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for measurement. The duplicate remover itself does not require an account or cloud history for processed text. Provider cookies and retention are governed by the applicable provider settings and policies.

Data Security

The processed text and file contents described above are not stored on our servers. Local processing, direct masking, and allowlisted Analytics events reduce exposure, but no website, browser, device, extension, or network environment can guarantee absolute security.

Information Sharing

We do not sell the text or file contents you process. When configured and enabled, we disclose the limited usage telemetry described above to Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics so they can provide measurement services. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or our rights.

About Tool Usage

1. Personal and Commercial Use

   • You can use Remove Duplicates Online for both personal and commercial purposes without any restrictions.

2. No Registration Required

   • Our tool does not require user registration or the provision of personal information to use.

3. Local Input Limits

   • To keep the browser responsive, pasted or typed text is limited to 300 KB of UTF-8 data. Uploaded text files are limited to 10 MB per file and 10 MB total per batch. Larger data can be split into smaller local batches or processed as local text files.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the effective date above will be updated for material revisions.
